Hands down, brunch is my favorite meal! On any given Sunday around town you can find me enjoying brunch. There’s something about having the option of breakfast, lunch or a mixture of both that gets me excited about the meal. My love for brunch has inspired me to start a series on Tish Around Town called Brunching Around Town. In this series, I will cover my favorite brunch spots around Atlanta.

There are countless places in Atlanta to have brunch, so I decided to start the Brunching Around Town series with Murphy’s, which is a favorite to many in Atlanta. Murphy’s describe their restaurant as a perfect combination of upscale comfort food, gracious service, a cozy setting and excellent value. I totally agree!

I have a little confession. I have lived in Atlanta for over 14 years, and Murphy’s has always been on my list of places to try until last month, and now you can’t keep me away from this place! My first visit was with one of my brunch buddies, then a second time with my ‘Mister’, and I’m already thinking about going back again.

Both of my dining experiences were amazing, and I was lucky enough to get the same fabulous server, Lorne, both times. My brunch usually starts off with one of my favorite brunch beverages: a mimosa, bellini or bloody mary. I tried both the mimosa and berry bellini and they were equally delicious. Another added bonus about Murphy’s is they have a bakery, so you are served a variety of fresh breads with homemade preserves to snack on before your meal.

I usually gauge a brunch spot on how they prepare the classic breakfast dishes, so I’m always looking for a tasty waffle, pancake or French toast. I tried a few things on the brunch menu but I really enjoyed the Hazelnut Crusted French Toast & Corned Beef Hash. Some of the other popular brunch dishes are the Eggs T. Murphy, Crab Cakes Benedict, Southwest Frittata & Chilaquiles, to name a few. Is your mouth watering yet?

Check out Murphy’s if you are in the mood for a great brunch that will cater to your comfort food taste buds. Also, Murphy’s has a wine bar with over 350 wines in stock with consultants on hand that will help you pick out the perfect bottle to take home.
