College Football Hall Of Fame in Atlanta, GA.
The new College Football Hall of Fame is now open! The Hall of Fame is centrally located in downtown Atlanta next to Centennial Olympic Park, which is near other tourist attractions such as the Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola, CNN Center, the Skyview Ferris Wheel, and the new National Center for Civil and Human Rights. This area is truly becoming a tourist’s dream with so many things to do within walking distance from downtown.
I had the pleasure of attending the grand opening of the Hall of Fame as a guest of my bestie, Cherie Kirkland, who is the granddaughter of legendary coach Eddie Robinson of Grambling State University. You can’t mention college football without mentioning the many accolades of “Coach Rob”, as he was affectionately known. He’s the winningest coach in NCAA Division I with 408 wins, 165 losses and 15 ties, and the 2nd winningest coach in college football. As a proud alumnae of Grambling State University, it warmed my heart to see how the Hall honored the legacy of Coach Rob in multiple exhibits throughout the venue.

The Hall of Fame is truly a must see! It is a three-story building with 50,000 square feet of interactive and engaging exhibits and a 45-yard replica indoor football field. Upon entering the Hall you are greeted with the beautiful Helmet Wall displaying over 700 college football teams. The fun begins when you select your favorite school during registration and it lights up on the Helmet Wall. I was so impressed with the state-of-the-art interactive multimedia exhibits, and get this: all your interactive activities done that day will be saved on your pass, so you will be able to view, download and share your pictures and videos recorded during your visit. How cool is that?! Here is a summary of the exhibits featured in the Hall:
- The Quad: Anchored by the Helmet Wall presented by Southwest Airlines displaying the helmets of more than 700 college football teams, the Quad is the entry point to the Hall of Fame
- The Playing Field: A 45-yard replica football field where guests can try their hand at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl Skill Zone
- Chick-fil-A Why We Love College Football: An immersive experience that showcases what makes college football so great by combining the heritage of the game with the technology of today
- Game Day Theater: Treats guests to an ultra-high definition, 4K feature film, “The Game of Your Life”
- Coca-Cola Fan’s Game Day: Chronicles what it’s like to experience a college football game from the perspective of the game’s biggest fans
- Kia Building a Champion: This gallery goes beyond the game day field to show the sacrifices and commitment made by today’s student-athletes and college coaches
- AT&T Game Time: From the rivalries that make the game great to the split-second decisions that engrave moments into college football history, this gallery explores the intensity, passion and fun surrounding the game
- Chick–fil-A and National Football Foundation Building Leaders: Pays tribute to those who have achieved accolades on the field and have gone on to make a difference off of it
- College Football Hall of Fame: Captures the stories and accomplishments of the players who broke records and won our hearts, cementing their legacy in a one-of-a-kind experience that pays homage to the tradition and heritage of the game

The Hall of Fame can be enjoyed by all ages. My favorite exhibit was the Coca-Cola Fan’s Game Day gallery, which features the experience that mascots, bands, cheerleaders and tailgating bring to the game. I had a blast singing the Grambling fight song in a karaoke challenge against some of the other college football fans.
Make sure you add this attraction to your Atlanta bucket list!
